Summary
Our client is a highly respected, family-owned fruit and vegetable processor headquartered in Southern Washington State, with more than 50 years of industry leadership and stability. Due to an upcoming retirement, the company is seeking an accomplished Vice President of Sales to lead approximately $350 million in annual revenue across domestic and international markets (60% foodservice, 30% retail, 10% industrial).
This is a critical executive leadership role based at the corporate headquarters in Southern Washington. The VP of Sales will be responsible for defining and executing the organization’s enterprise-wide commercial strategy to drive sustainable revenue growth, expand margins, and enhance long-term enterprise value.
As a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, the Vice President will provide strategic oversight of sales and customer service functions, shape market positioning, strengthen customer partnerships, and ensure operational excellence across commercial activities. The role carries full accountability for commercial performance, forecasting, budgeting, and talent development, while partnering cross-functionally to align strategy with overall business objectives.

Responsibilities
- Develop and execute enterprise-level commercial strategies to drive sustainable revenue growth, margin expansion, and increased contribution from value-added products and services across private label and branded foodservice and industrial processed fruit and vegetable segments.
- Provide executive leadership to the sales organization, partnering with sales managers and senior leaders to develop long-term customer strategies, key account plans, and competitive market positioning.
- Lead market intelligence, demand planning, and forecasting processes to support data-driven strategic decisions and alignment with corporate objectives.
- Maintain full accountability for departmental budget development, financial governance, and performance management to ensure disciplined resource allocation.
- Collaborate as a core member of the Executive Leadership Team to advance operational excellence, continuous improvement initiatives, and strategic transformation efforts.
- Oversee sales and customer service leadership, driving performance management, succession planning, organizational design, and leadership development.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, regulatory, and corporate governance requirements while fostering a culture of accountability and risk management.
Requirements

- Must have deep expertise in processed fruit and vegetable products, with demonstrated success developing, closing, and expanding high-volume multinational accounts across food, beverage, and ingredient markets.
- Must have strong understanding of customer discovery, value creation, compliance regulations, quality systems, and food safety standards across domestic and international markets.
- Must have comprehensive knowledge of distribution networks and supply chain optimization, including cross-border trade, freight management, and coordination with production and sourcing teams.
- Must have proven executive-level leadership ability, including influencing C-suite and senior decision-makers, negotiating complex agreements, and managing large, strategic accounts.
- Must have demonstrated ability to operate independently in a senior leadership capacity while delivering superior customer service and driving strategic initiatives across multiple regions and time zones.
- Must have a strong commercial acumen with a consistent record of driving sustainable revenue growth in foodservice, private label, and industrial channels.

Education & Experience
- Must have at least a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales & Marketing, Finance, Food Science, Food Technology, or related field required.
- Must have a minimum of 10 years of progressive sales leadership experience, including management of high-performing sales teams.
- Must have direct experience in processed fruit and/or vegetable sales strongly preferred.
- Must have experience in B2B food sales, food ingredients, broadline food distribution, and agricultural products highly desirable.
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
Relocation to Southern Washington State is required.
