Position Overview
Our client is a well-known manufacturer of branded specilaty meats sold at most supermarkets throughout the US. If you’re an experienced HACCP or Food Safety Professional working in a USDA environment and generally satisfied where you are—but open to learning about a well-run, stable operation—this may be worth a quiet conversation.
Our client is a respected specialty meat processor in Northern New Jersey seeking a HACCP Coordinator to take ownership of core food safety programs. This is a traditional, hands-on HACCP role in a USDA-inspected facility, ideal for someone who values structure, consistency, and working closely with operations rather than chasing constant fire drills. The company is growing and this is a newly created position.
This is a hands-on, onsite position located in the greater Dover, NJ area and will report to the Sr. Operations & Supply Chain Director.
Responsibilities
- Own and maintain HACCP plans in a USDA/FSIS-regulated meat processing environment
- Manage SSOPs, GMPs, and prerequisite programs
- Review HACCP records, deviations, and corrective actions
- Support daily USDA inspection activity and serve as a knowledgeable on-site resource
- Conduct internal audits, verifications, and validations
- Provide practical HACCP and food safety training to production teams
- Partner with Operations and Sanitation to maintain compliance and continuous improvement

Requirements
- Must have at least a BS degree and 2 yrs of relavant HACCP experience (Or 5 yrs of relevant HACCP experience with USDA experience without a degree)
- Must have prior experience with meat products or in a USDA plant is essential
- Must have a working knowledge of USDA/FSIS regulations and inspection processes
- Must have experience in a HACCP, QA, or Food Safety role within a meat or poultry facility
- HACCP certification preferred
- Someone steady, detail-oriented, and comfortable in a production setting
