Summary
Our client is a rapidly GROWING “greenfield” FLAVOR manufacturer based in a Western Chicago suburb. Based on a major expansion, they are seeking a Engineering and Maintenance Manager. This role is responsible for leading project management activities from concept to completion. This role integrates the responsibilities of the Project management function and the plant maintenance operation. Will be leading and collaborating with the operations team on the equipment performance optimization and capacity maximization initiatives. The position drives continuous improvement and oversees cross-functional project execution while maintaining compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Manage the installation and commissioning of production equipment in a green field facility ensuring schedule and budget goals are met.
• Manage engineering projects external service providers and contractors.
• Lead the lifecycle of capital and improvement projects: planning & design, installation, commissioning and closure.
• Establish and execute an equipment preventative maintenance program to extend the life of the equipment, ensure effectiveness, and minimize downtime.
• Oversee the daily operation of the maintenance function.
• Coordinate with HSE, Quality, Operations and maintenance teams to ensure smooth project and process execution.
• Lead, coach, and mentor direct reports
• Foster knowledge-sharing and ensure team alignment with company objectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical, mechanical or industrial engineering.
- Min 10 years of working experience in process and project management in the Flavors, fragrance, or food manufacturing industry.
- A minimum of 5 years supervisory role.
- Experience in installation, commissioning and automation of productions equipment
- Knowledge of PLC, HMI, Technical / Electrical Drawing, production equipment operation is highly desirable
- Effective communication and management skills • Excellent organizational and leadership abilities
