Senior Process Engineer Aspetic Processing

Summary

• Our client is a manufacturer of high quality ingredients, process equipment and technology. Due to continued growth and expansion, they have an immediate need for an experienced SENIOR PROCESS ENGINEERS with ASEPTIC PACKAGING experience to be located in the Raleigh, NC area. The SENIOR PROCESS ENGINEER is responsible for providing professional assistance and scientific counsel in areas of aseptic process development, aseptic process design, manufacturing line layout, throughput, product quality, and line efficiency for assigned businesses within the organization. This individual will be in charge of managing projects as well as providing process capabilities to the plant. This person will also be responsible for managing the capital spend including; design phase, installation and start up. Individual will also be responsible for process development and optimizing existing processes. (OEE)

Responsibilities

• Leads or facilitates efficiency improvement projects such as CIP time reduction, changeover time reductions, online % improvement, loss % reduction, labor efficiency studies, etc. across the business group. • Manages all phases of the project, including team/project chartering, data collection and analysis, process re-design, and implementation. Works directly with plant teams to identify, implement, and validate changes. • To provide technical resource and support for all aspects of food processing and efficiency at company-controlled operations, co-packers and participate in the review and validation of the process technology of any acquisition targets for the division. • Maintain and serve as the main contact point with internal and external engineering resources. Attend process/packaging shows/seminars. • To assist the assigned business unit in the design food processes and manufacturing lines and support the site teams to route cause technical issues and implement corrective and preventative measures. • To provide timely and appropriate food processing expertise to R&D groups during the development and commercialization of new product introductions. The process engineer is the link between R&D/engineering/operations. • Develop new processing specifications and manufacturing guides in close coordination with the assigned R&D group, validate all major investment projects and ensure that the infrastructure and process designs are optimal. • Drive productivity and quality through analysis of production lines and application of lean principles (one piece flow, Kanban, 5S etc.) Trains employees as needed to implement procedural or other changes. • Form external relationships with process and packaging equipment suppliers-Build up library of relevant equipment/packaging systems.

Requirements

• MUST have at least a BS in Engineering or Operations • MUST havePROCESS and PROJECT ENGINEERING experience at the plant level. • MUST have at least 5+ years of project and/or process engineering experience with a FOOD, INGREDIENT, FLAVOR, BEVERAGE, NUTRACEUTICAL or PHARMACEAUTICAL MANUFACTURER. • MUST HAVE ASEPTIC PACKAGING EXPERINCE • MUST have process improvement experience, lean manufacturing, and/or Six-Sigma certified. • MUST have the ability to understand and analyze complex data ad statistics • MUST have the ability to work with and lead diverse teams • MUST be able to travel as needed to support business needs. 40-60% • MUST have the ability to lead process improvement projects and cross functional teems • Prefer candidates that have experience with AutoCAD In return, they can offer a competitive compensation package, excellent benefits, relocation assistance and ample opportunity for future career growth!
