Sr Poultry Scientist/Manager Location: Texas
Job Description
Our client is a well known chain and based out of Texas and they are seeking to hire an experienced Sr. Poultry Scientist/R&D Manager to develop and commercialize new poultry products. This is a senior individual conbtrinbutor role and will be responsible for maintaining and improving the quality of poultry/chicken products, while developing new ones; Partner with other Scientists and R&D Managers around the country as well as with poultry suppliers to ensure the safety, quality, and consistency of poultry products delivered to the company.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities ● Drives Chicken/Poultry Innovation and Technology strategy, goals, and priorities. Ensure safety and Quality Assurance to meet standards. ● Partner with Global Poultry Product Managers or FIT/QA leaders around the world to meet current Poultry Brand Standard specifications. ● Develop new poultry products to increase the menu. i.e. new chicken fillet, chicken nuggets etc. ● Supports poultry commercialization initiatives, spec review and supply chain initiatives as guided by Sr. Global Manager. ● Manages relationship with multiple poultry suppliers through the market counterparts. ● Develop a monitor & performance system to ensure compliance to company specifications and programs by markets. Drives follow up and corrective action plans on all critical issues with them. ● Manages specification updates ensuring all markets comply and meet product design requirements and global/local regulations. ● Monitors raw material supply and demand trends to establish changes in specifications that can positively impact the business; assists development of contingency plans for such occurrences. ● Identifies opportunities for product/process improvements through root cause and trend analysis and establish processes to monitor suppliers performance against key metrics. ● Approve and validate chicken setpoints in new equipment. ● Lead and support team in Food demos.

Requirements

Requirements:
● Education/Certifications – Bachelor of Science in Poultry Science, Food Science or related scientific field. M.S./PhD. Preferred. ● 7+ years food industry experience in poultry QA, Production, Processing and/or R&D minimum 3 years supervisory/management experience
● Exceptional ledership and interpersonal skills.
● Must be able to define global strategies, lead a crossfunctionl team by building alliances and becoming a team player and guide poultry suppliers. ● Must be able to anticipate and identify potential challenges and recommend course of action to resolve them.
● Must be able to create and present material in composed and self-assured manner
● Demonstrated success in talent management and assessment
● Exceptional product management experience, application of principle, practices, and procedures within area of specialization
● Willing to travel up to 40%
● Ability to plan, prioritize, lead and execute multiple projects within timelines and budgets
● Must demonstrate sound judgement and exceptional reasoning skills
